Yingdong Stadium

The stadium was designated as the Asia Games’basketball competition stadium, the hardware and software facilities of the stadium run thorough transformation to comply with the high-grade requirements of stadium standard set by GAGOC. The designed HVAC ductwork system was traditional GI ducts, but the solution encountered some difficulties.

The stadium inner space is 22m and is an all-steel construction structure. If it used traditional stadium ventilation, hundreds of tons crossed metal duct not only affect overall aesthetics but also add load-carrying to the roof, and take the ball nozzle outlets into account, it will greatly increase the total construction cost. The project leader finally decided to select DurkeeSox® fabric duct to replace traditional GI ductwork.

DurkeeSox® Technic Center referred to the actual situation and designed 3 main fabric air ducts (16m in length) which perpendicular to the ground and each main duct connects to 2 branch ducts(1067 mm in diameter), the 6 branch ducts form a closed-type hexagon. The DurkeeSox® fabric ducts with multi-line leaser cutting orifices separately supply air to the spectator stand, media stand, and basketball court, the ducts covered a larger area with lower airflow velocity, no noise and even & comfortable airflow, also the aesthetic appearance of ducts is in harmony with the construction structure as well as save total construction cost (lightweight fabric duct will significantly decrease load-bearing to roof).

Meanwhile, the suspension system of DurkeeSox® air dispersion system is a cable quick suspension system, it is convenience to installation as well as maintenance processes, and these are directly lower HVAC ductwork system cost. Besides, selected grey fabric ducts to well match the surrounding decoration and highlight the aesthetic factor of our fabric duct systems.

Yantai International Exhibition Center located in the center of Laishan District of the costal city-Yantai, bordered by Sport Park in the west and university town in the south and surrounded by protection forest in the north. The exhibition center covers an area of 267,000 m2, it’s the largest and highest grade as well as most attractive complex center in Yantai. The exhibition center was a key project in Yantai in 2006. It began construction on Dec. 30, 2005 and completed on Oct. 2006 to hold “Euro-Asia International Travel Expo”.

The exhibition center consists of several halls with a similar layout, and each hall covers an area of approximately 5,000 m2 with a 15m interior space. The spacious and bright halls have broad exhibition area, the halls didn’t decorate too much except the spot lights which were installed on the wall. The simplicity decorative style would bring a tough problem to traditional air dispersion duct, because the traditional air dispersion duct distribute airflow via air distributors. To achieve uniform air ventilation and cover the whole area, the roof of the halls must be covered with traditional duct and air distributors, but it would affect appearance, lighting and tons of metal duct would bring damage to roof structure.

The owner fully considered aesthetic effect, air distribution effect, quick installation requirement and other factors, finally they chose DurkeeSox indiaair dispersion system. 2 white DurkeeSox® duct with 1016 mm in diameter were installed in the hall and high-velocity, uniform airflow was distributed to exhibition area through multi-row orifices on the DurkeeSox® duct, it is very comfort. The white color match surrounding environment very well and highlight the simplicity and high grade visual effect.

Meanwhile, the DurkeeSox® duct was made of fabric with permeability and about 10% of the total air dispersion volume permeated through the special fabric, it is a good solution for condensation during cooling air dispersion.

Beside, DurkeeSox® duct adopt double row cable and quick hanging device for installation, the whole installation process was done by manual operation without welding, painting, drilling processes which would caused damage to job site and the installation work can be done within several hours.

To continually improve and to provide a better working environment for the employees is always the priority of PAPAMY. Thus these 15,500 square metres existing production area is chosen to be converted to an air-conditioned area to bring down the working ambient from highest 35oC to 27oC.

One of the most challenging parts of the project is that the whole production area is full with a lot of facilities (exhaust ducts, cable trays, pipes, etc.) above with complicated old structures, roof trusses and underneath with many conveyors, machines and occupied area. Therefore the designer has a lot of limitations to design the ducting route and to ensure the full coverage of air and the air dispersion performance simultaneously. Moreover the 24/7 operations cannot be interrupted, meanwhile there are many AGVs (Automatic Guided Carts) running around with intervals for materials feeding and handling to most of the production lines.
